Six Sentence Sunday #4

July 10, 2011 by admin

Once again I did my *best* to visit everyone’s blog. I’m sorry if I missed yours! Also .blogspots are giving me fits at the moment so i’m afraid no .blogspots got a comment from me this week :(! Please remember to allow anonymous comments that way people can leave a name and a URL! Thanks.

This week I finished “Boots on the Ground“. Which is the follow up to my debut novel “Sometimes It’s Fate”. I’ve been working on this novel for almost a year and a half!! *phew* I’m so glad to finally be done!

So! this week’s Six is from Boots, Last week we heard a snip of Jason’s vows. Today’s is a snip of David’s vows :)! (Look out for the foreshadowing!!!)

*~*

“If you had of told me two years ago that I would be standing here today marrying my best friend I would have laughed at you,” he started, “but here I am. I am marrying my best friend, my confidante and my soul mate. I love you Jason Christopher McCarthy,” David stopped to clear his throat. “I am so grateful that I have you. Every day when I look at you I think it was some miracle, some gift of fate that brought us together.  I have no idea what my life would be like without you and I pray I will never have to find out.”

*~*

Duty, Love, Sacrifice

July 4, 2011 by admin

So I’m in the middle of subbing my book, Duty, Honour, Love out to several publishers. I’ve gotten a few rejections but overall I’m hopeful that someone will pick it up!

I’m now trying to finish “Boots on the Ground” (hopefully very soon!) as well as working on the follow up to “Duty, Honour, Love”  called “Duty, Love, Sacrifice”

I came up with the blurb for it today. I love the blurb!! here it is:

Logan Weber is a good cop, with a very special talent. With his best friend Chris Miller at his side, they’re the best team Internal Affairs has for chasing down those who would dishonour their profession. When the foster mother of Chris’ soon to be adopted son dies tragically, Logan is left wondering if their on-again-off-again-when-in-need-relationship  is both what they really want or need. While Chris is questioning his future as a police officer, Logan chases down a prolific child pornography distributor. The chase leads him down paths he promised himself he would never go. He finds himself facing a choice, be honest to his badge and to Chris, or sacrifice everything in the hunt for vigilantly justice.

What do you think?? Would you read this book?? Remember every comment is entered into win for my blog contest

“I love yo u David Henri Richard. I fell in love with you when I was lost and so broken. You were my best friend, you were a light in a very dark tunnel when I thought I would never see the end of my grief. Every day I wake up next to you I thank god that I have you. Every time you kiss me, I feel my knees go weak like I’m going to faint because I am so lucky to have you.” Jason stopped and swallow.

█ ♥ █ Happy Canada Day █ ♥ █

July 1, 2011 by admin

In case you haven’t noticed I hold a .ca domain name. I am a very proud Canadian girl!

Today in celebration of being Canadain, I want to tell you all of the reasons I love Canada, and if you haven’t been, why you should really come and visit!

1. Be who you want to be, not matter who you are.

You can be who ever you want to be, and no one can persecute you.

2. Education for all

Out education system is free for everyone, yes there are school fees, and yes university does cost, but our basic go to school to get a high-school diploma, or go back to school to update when you’re 30, or get your diploma when you’re 50? Free.

3. Health Care

If you walk into any hospital, any clinic you will  be treated –for free–. You get the best treatment possible, if you make $8.50 an hour, or 8 million a year. Do you have to wait? Sometimes yes. If you you *need* it now, you get it now.  Our system is based off of worse case first, not who has the most money.

4. True equality.

In Canada we have the Charter of rights and freedoms.  You have the right to be who you are, the right to which religion and the right to who you want to love.  You have the legal right to marry -who- you want. You can do -what- you want. It’s amazing and very few other countries in the world can claim this.

Just a few reasons why I love living in Canada. There are so many more!

I hope everyone has a great Canada Day/Fourth of July weekend! Stay safe and don’t forget every comment on my blog from June 25th to July 26th at midnight enters you into win one of TWO prizes!!

In “Boots on the Ground”, Jason is Sent to Afghanistan but before he leaves David and Jason get married.

Here is a snip from their wedding,Jason and his older brother Steve are in the chambers waiting for the wedding to start.

*~*

“You’re happy and excited and terrified and sad and mad and glad and you have no idea all rolled into one giant ball of energy,” Steve supplied.

Jason nodded, “How did you know?”

“Dude I got married in June it’s not a feeling you forget any time soon,” Steve replied, he slugged Jason’s arm playfully, “I think you’re worse than I was.”

“You were puking your guts out in the bathroom of the rectory because you were so hung over from the night before,” Jason pointed out.

Steve laughed, “Don’t tell Nancy that.”

“You’re kidding right, you drunk called her at three am to say that you love her so you didn’t sleep with the stripper that your buddy hired.”

*~*
