New Blurb: Daddies by Surprise!

February 8, 2012 by Angela

This book is still in it’s infancy (read less than 10k) but I’m totally in-love with it! Here is the working blurb:

Caleb McAlister’s life was as close to perfect. He was married to Luke, the most amazing man he knew, he was a successful businessman and his farm was one of the most profitable on the Island. Then a visit from Karen Tate left him doubting everything he thought he knew about Luke, and both of them holding a toddler.  They struggle to find a new balance in their lives, and just when they have it figured out Luke’s family launches a custody battle for little Stacey. As the court case ensues Caleb’s farm, his marriage to Luke, and everything he loves is put on the line in the ultimate sacrifice for love.

Look for some more snips from “Daddies by Surprise” coming soon :)!

Boots on the Ground Blurb

December 14, 2011 by Angela

Here is the new Blurb for “Boots on the Ground” let me know what you think!

Ash Cooper and Jason McCarty know they need to do one thing, and one thing alone stay alive. An IED attack destroyed their convoy and left them both injured in the high desert of Afghanistan and running from insurgents. They take refuge with a group of Afghan civilians, their only hope of rescue is two satellite phones that might be damaged beyond repair. Ash and Jason join forces with a British army nurse to survive the harsh living conditions. As days to turn to weeks they think of home, the husbands they left behind, and the lives they want to return to. But with food rations running short, the elders angry at them and the hope of rescue lost, Ash and Jason start to give up, and in the end turn to each other in their struggle for survival.

Nursing, writing, and blogging.

November 18, 2011 by Angela

People often ask me what it’s like to be a nurse.

I tell them it’s heart breaking, horrible work in which you’re constantly over worked and underpaid.

Then I tell them I love it and I wouldn’t do anything else.

People ask me what it’s like to be a writer.

I tell them it’s a hard job, with long hours, time consuming with little reward to start.

Then I tell them I love it, and I would do it for the rest of my life if I could.

Then people ask me what it’s like to be a blogger.

And I tell them I miss it.

So! I’m determined to start blogging again. I’m really excitred to get my new website launched and get back to blogging :)!

Realization.

October 26, 2011 by Angela

I was writing a blog post for my old online-journal. One I’ve had for like ten years (So uhh no you can’t see it!) and I came to a (to me anyway) slightly stunning revelation.

I am happy.

Things are not perfect in my life. There is lots of things happening, here, there, and everywhere, but I am so happy right now. I’m writing stories, FOR PUBLICATION. like honest-to-god get paid for stories. It’s amazing. I have a great job, I live in a fantastic place. I feel amazing. I really do. I’m kinda stunned by that fact. Then I guess I shouldn’t be. It just feels good to know that things are really great right now.

I’m so excited for the future. New Stories, new friends, new places, new experiences. I cant wait to jump on board and go along for the ride.
